Net4Cities to host Noise Monitoring Webinar – Noise Nuisance in a city that never sleeps

How does traffic noise affect our health? And what can cities do to better understand and tackle this invisible challenge?

As part of its mission to better understand environmental health risks in European cities, Net4Cities is deploying colocated noise monitoring terminals with traffic counting capacity in 11 partner cities across Europe. These efforts aim to shed light on the importance of traffic noise as a major public health concern.

Join us on October 7, 2025, at 10:00 CEST for a free public webinar via Zoom, where leading experts will share insights into the impacts of urban noise and the benefits of comprehensive monitoring networks.

What to expect:

  • Sarah Weidenfeld (DLR – German Aerospace Center), noise expert, presenting the latest research on how traffic noise affects health.
  • David Lopez Capdevila (City of Barcelona) discussing why the city built its extensive noise-monitoring network, and the lessons learned along the way.
  • 💬 Q&A session to put your questions directly to the experts.

Who should attend?

Members of the Net4Cities consortium, stakeholders from the 11 Net4Cities’ partner cities, representatives of local monitoring networks, scientists, policymakers, and anyone interested in healthier, quieter cities.

The webinar will be held in English.

Participation is free, but registration is required at:
